max marshall



max marshall was born in pittsburgh, pa and grew up in chicago, il.  he first started playing piano at age four, and took an interest in jazz at age 12.  max is currently a music performance major at denison university in granville, oh, where he performs with many ensembles and co-directs the denison latin jazz percussion ensemble.  he is also active in the columbus jazz scene, and as of recently, he has also taken a strong interest in music composition and the study of 20th century music.  a self-described “musician for life,” max hopes to attend the new england conservatory in the future, and to play piano with the maria schneider orchestra.  he received a research grant from denison to study extensively the music of pianist oscar peterson, and is also currently working on the music of the beatles.
